First telomere-to-telomere human genome assembly

T2T Consortium presented first complete human genome assembly on T2T/HPRC Open Science Days! Polished version of the assembly can be found on github. This is exciting breakthrough for all bioinformatics community!

We are proud that members of our laboratory take part in this important initiative, especially, Alla Mikheenko and Alexey Gurevich, who developed TandemTools in collaboration with UCSD. TandemTools were used to evaluate the quality of assemblies in the most difficult repetitive regions (such as centromeres).
