The key goal of the project is a development of novel computational methods, approaches and tools for the analysis of large genomic, metagenomic and metatranscriptomic data that is associated with various microbiota. This project includes design of methods and algorithms for the following open problems:
- identification of biosynthetic gene clusters of non-ribosomal peptides from natural metagenomic data;
- co-assembly of metagenomic and metatranscriptomic data;
- reconstruction of full-length gene sequences from fragmented metagenome assemblies and discovery of antibiotic-resistance genes.
